Friday started out as a doozy. I was late for work because my car didn’t start (wayyyyy too cold up in Wisconsin) and then I left early because of a monstrous migraine and ended up in urgent care. Does anyone else suffer from migraines? They are the WORST. After some Valium and a 4 hour nap, I was feeling better.
Saturday took a turn for the better. I got to spend the morning at my parents with my niece, Scout while my Mom was making food for a party she was attending later that night. Scout and I took a little field trip to Starbucks in our jammies. Is there anything cuter than a 2 year old saying, “Star-Bucks?” No, I don’t think so.
Saturday afternoon I threw together a really good and easy soup in the crockpot. It was diced tomatoes, cream cheese, spinach, chicken stock and cheese tortellini. So good. And so easy! It passed the husbands approval when he said it was a keeper.
Saturday was also spent re-hanging all of my clothes on new hangers. I caved and finally bought the thin-velvet hangers for my clothes. Holy moly, you guys! What a difference it makes! It literally shrunk my closet size by half! HALF! I now have half of my closet free and open and all just because I changed out the hangers. Safe to say that anything that gives me more closet space without have to get rid of any of clothes makes me a happy gal. What? It’s not like I’m a horder or anything..
Saturday was Ryan’s last night before he went to Texas for work. We spent it just hanging out and chilling at home. We kind of have a tradition where we take a selfie of us together before either of us takes a trip without the other one. I’m not sure why, but it’s just nice to have them as a memory until they come back home.
I spent Sunday morning under a bunch of blankets on the couch while I watched HGTV until I got bored and called up my parents and asked them to entertain me for the day. Ha, I clearly don’t do well on my own. We took a road trip to a place in Wisconsin that has better shopping than just a Target. I got to go to Sephora (it was just a small one in JCPenney but I’ll take it) and stocked up on a few things that I was out of. Hello Nars!
We also hit up a Red Lobster, Costco and a casino just to keep things extra classy. Ah, I love Sunday adventures with my parents. I can’t remember the last time we did that but it’s been far too long.
I ended the weekend with laundry, and watching the Oscars until I fell asleep on the couch, you know, things you get to do when your husband is gone. All I have to say is that Margot Robbie and Reese Witherspoon were my favorite and I saw a lot of lobs out there! Short hair seems to be taking over Hollywood!
